The Colossians series from Video Bible Talks is an 8-video series of talks from the Bible book of Colossians. Paul’s letter to the Colossians was written to help Christians stay clear of false teaching that says you need ‘something more’ than Jesus, and to stay close to the true message of new life that we now have in him.
In this fourth video, we look at Colossians 2 v6-7. These verses are at the heart of Paul’s letter, and they show us that the very thing we need to become a follower of Jesus is the exact same thing we need to live as a follower of Jesus. Just as we have received Jesus as Lord, so we’re to continue to live with Jesus as Lord. This is characterised by being rooted and built up in Jesus (where we don’t need to move on to anything else), being strengthened in the faith by what the bible teaches us, and overflowing with thankfulness as a response to the incredible grace God has given us in Christ.
